their security. >> jennifer: there was another important nomination today which was john brennan being nominated to head the cia. your take on him given his criticism on the use of interrogation techniques. >> i think he'll get a knew criticisms from the left but these will be from democrats who don't want to see president obama's nomination defeated. and brennan will respond by we don't do that enough anymore. we can have the debate but going forward, we're not going to do enhanced interrogations and i would think that would more or less settle the matter. >> jennifer: so do you think they both get confirmed? >> i think hague legal be tough. he is going to have to show that he is willing to rethink some of his positions. i like the fact that he is a bit of a contrarian but i think some of the conversation is going to be very useful. if he tries to stick with every position he took over the years, he could run into some heavy opposition, but my guess is in the end he will probably be fine and probably get 70 or more votes. >> jennifer: i agree with you. thank you so much for joi

killings overseas. the washington post reports counter-terrorism adviser and cia-nominee john brennan has signed off on a plan to exempt the drone attacks in pakistan from a list of operations that would be covered under newly enacted rules. areas covered in the so-called play book include the process for adding names to kill lists, the principles for killing u.s. citizens abroad, and the command chain for authorizing cia or u.s. military strikes outside war zones. the exemption of drone strikes in pakistan would allow the cia to continue carrying them without -- tearing them without a legal framework for a to two years. the hostage standoff in a jury of his ended in the deaths of dozens of people, including up to 48 of the captured workers. algerian forces say they recovered at least 25 bodies after storming the militant held gas complex saturday, bringing the confirmed death toll to least 80. witnesses say the hostages were brutally executed. the toll could have been worse as hundreds of hostages had earlier managed to escape. a will on islamist fighter has claimed responsibility for th
